Church
The Luwero Community Church was started in 2005, after a seventy open air crusade. God did great and mighty things. In that week 85 people became believers. That sunday morning we decided that the church should start. The people the Lord had brought to us needed a place to worship
By faith, the church started with 35 people under a tree. These were hard days for the rain used to chase us away from the tree, we had no chairs! Only two people had Bibles. The pastor and one believer. But the Spirit of God was moving every sunday service and during the weekly Bible studys.
After 3 months of persistence, the Spirit of the Lord told me to build some thing for the people to meet in. I told the believer sisters and brothers that we should build a church. Nobody had any money, but we had a faithful God. We got poles from the forest and started digging holes for the poles as someone building a new home. God saw how determined we were. And he sent one brother from Northampton (Mr and Mrs Tom Willmott). They supported us by sending money for the iron sheets.
The congregation met and grew in this temporary structure for all these years. We have seen God doing great and mighty things and miracles in the Church. Numbers have been from 35 in 2005 to 250 in 2008! This is not just number growth, but we have seen people grow spiritually to maturity and many now have been ordained for church leadership.
To some God has called to be Administrators
To some God has called to be Elders
To some God has called to be Deacons
To some God has called to be Ushers
To some God has called to be Evangelists
To some God has called to be Sunday School Teachers
To some God has called to be Prayer Warriors
This growth has been brought by the way we behave in the community, the way we talk and do things toward those whohave not yet received Jesus. God is binding us together every day.
